Background: Girl Geek Dinners were founded on the 16th of August 2005 in London as a result of one girl geek by the name of Sarah Blow who got annoyed and frustrated about being one of the only females attending technical events. She was tired of being assumed to be marketing, tired of constantly having to prove herself and decided that she just wanted a change and to be treated just the same as any other geek out there, gender and age aside.

After all to be geeky is to be intelligent, have passion for a subject, and to know that subject in depth. It’s not at all about being better than others, or about gender, race, religion or anything else. Those things just detract from the real fun stuff, the technology, the innovation, and the spread of new ideas.

What Type Are You

Take the Pentagram test and find out what type of type you are. The password is “character”.

As you can see from the image I am Dot Matrix and on the notepad are my answers to the 4 questions they ask. Go ahead, your turn.

Middle Sister Wine

I was strolling through the aisles in Target yesterday with my mom and sis and as always I space out and wander off to find something I’m interested in. It can be a blow up mattress on sale. “Oh, I really need one of these for camping.” Or looking at new book releases. “Damn, there are like hella books about vampires!” When I got to the wine aisle I noticed Middle Sister Wines. It first caught my eye because one, I am a middle sister. Two, the illustrations are really cute and three, I like wine.

Sadly I didn’t buy any so I can’t give you a reason to buy it but did decide to check them out online today.  I have to say I really love the company. They seem like a really cool, relaxed and fun wine company. Not like the snoody feel you get from wine companies and wine drinkers. Besides loving the concept I am a designer at heart and wish the website was tons better. But I think I shall return to Target and purchase these today. If you try it let me know what you think.
