Amanda Ray — Project Manager

Description of what your object is and why you chose it.
I’ve chosen my old camera because I’ve always enjoyed taking photos, mostly because it allows you to freeze a moment in time forever.  And because I thought using my pet rock would be embarrassing.     

Hobbies/Special interests
I love to travel and explore new places and new things with my friends and family.  When I can’t travel and I’m stuck with doing the day to day things, I love going to local art galleries, visiting vineyards, and going to the pool to soak up the sun (with a piña colada in hand of course). 

Which person, alive or dead, do you find most inspiring and why?
My cousin Brad inspires me every day.  Before even reaching the age of 30, or seeing his daughter turn one, he passed away from heart failure.  He fought this illness every day for over two years.  I admire the courage he had to face each day, and his attitude toward the unfortunate hand he was dealt.  He handled everything with such grace and acceptance, and was there for his family until his last breath. 

What role do you play here at Westminster?
I am a project manager for the creative services team.  I’m like an octopus with eight legs, doing a billion things at once.  I work directly with our clients, vendors, and designers to ensure that their projects are done well, on time, and on budget.  Basically I organize, organize, and then I organize.
