Bruce Williams — Founder / CEO
Description of what your object is and why you chose it.
The object is a tin box with 4 separate cans, each measuring about 2 ½” x 1 ¾”. This was the single item that I requested from my parents estate. It represents many things to me, but the one I’ll talk to here is about the imprint it had upon me when I was just a boy. I grew up in a very poor, working class family. I observed the many daily sacrifices my parents made as they struggled to provide a safe and secure environment for their three sons. I was particularly struck by their incredible discipline saving every dime, quarter, and dollar they were able to earn. This was the container that all of their meager earnings were allocated. As our rent payment became due, I watched as they counted and recounted the money they saved in this box. That discipline I observed and the values imparted have resulted in the work ethic we preach and practice at Westminster. Our team, hired in keeping with that old-fashioned value system, possess an enormous amount of dedication and consideration for our clients. We care deeply about what we do and for whom we do it. We work to get you the most that we can with the budget you have available. We are certain that you and your firm will benefit from the value system we employ when conducting business on your behalf.
Hobbies/Special interests
I work out 5 to 6 days a week which mixes spinning, weight lifting and cardio in my routine. I like Giant’s baseball, Sharks’ hockey and reality TV.
Which person, alive or dead, do you find most inspiring and why?
There are many people who inspire me, but most recently I’ve found Barack Obama to be very inspiring. I’ve been moved by his personal story of overcoming significant obstacles. His steady, intellectual and reasoned approach to crisis, and his vision of hope for the future of the average American gives me hope and inspiration.
In your own words, what is it that you do here at Westminster?
My principle responsibilities at Westminster center around providing a vision for our company’s steady and continued growth. I provide positive leadership and mentoring to our executive team. I’m a problem solver and consultative business developer, I make the tough decisions and hire and retain the right people for the right job.
